Are you interested in joining the profession of “HEROS”. If your answer is yes, then enrolling in Health Careers Technology is the answer. Mrs. Mattis and Mrs. Garrett invite you to take a virtual tour of the program. Learn about the exciting opportunities that await you as you learn the skills and knowledge to prepare you to join the health care field. You will be given a tour of the classrooms, overview of the curriculum and even taught the skills of proper handwashing and proper application of personal protective equipment. You will also learn about our student organization HOSA-Future Health Care Professionals. HOSA provides you with the opportunity to participate in many community service projects, gain leadership qualities and be part of an international organization. HOSA also provides opportunities to have fun through team building socials and projects. When enrolling in Health Careers Technology you are also provided the opportunity to complete the Nurse Aide Program through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Completion of this program and successfully passing the competency evaluation, you will be able to work in the health care field as a Nursing Assistant immediately upon graduation. Average starting wages as a Nursing Assistant in Lebanon County range from $13.00/hr-$17.00/hr. The starting wage is without any further education. Also, as an employee of a health care facility, you will have an opportunity to continue your education for a higher-level nurse (RN or LPN) with the help from your employer. Most health care facilities will help you to further your education with tuition reimbursement programs.
