Sports Therapy Sciences (Rehabilitation Aide)
Students in the Sports Therapy Sciences program will gain knowledge of sports medicine and build a strong understanding of injury recognition and management. Students will also develop expertise in conducting pre-participation health and fitness assessments, enabling them to create personalized exercise programs and assist with rehabilitation plans under a qualified health professional. Our mission is to deliver an education that inspires graduates to pursue advanced studies in fields such as athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, personal training and other health, wellness and fitness disciplines. The curriculum covers human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, first aid and CPR, injury management, and exercise science. Upon program completion, students can sit to take the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) Certified Personal Training exam.

Year One: 8:00 A.M.-10:25 A.M. (36 weeks // 3 credits)

NOCTI
National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) provides industry-based credentials and partner industry certifications for students enrolled in career and technical education programs.

BLS Healthcare Provider
Basic Life Support Certification provides students with both single-rescuer and team basic life support skills in both prehospital and in-facility environments.

Personal Trainer
Becoming a certified personal trainer gives you the tools to enhance the physical fitness of others with a range of concentrated areas of fitness including training philosophy and performance type.

Stop The Bleed
Stop the Bleed certification provides hands‑on training to quickly identify severe bleeding and apply lifesaving techniques such as direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet use.
ConcussionWise
ConcussionWise certification provides essential training on recognizing concussion symptoms, responding safely to potential head injuries, and supporting proper recovery protocols

OSHA 10
OSHA 10 certification provides foundational training on workplace safety, hazard recognition, and essential practices for preventing injuries in industry settings.

Penn College of Technology - 1 credit
Students can be employed while in high school through the Cooperative Education program. Qualified students may obtain paid employment after successful completion of classroom training. This program expands the school curriculum by providing students with additional skills through supervised work experience at local businesses. The employment is scheduled during the time the student would be in attendance at the Career and Technology Center.
