Prospective Adult Continuing Education Students

The normal steps in processing enrollment are as follows:

  1. Adult students wishing to enroll must complete a registration form that is submitted to the adult education staff for processing. Vocational education is accessible to all persons over the age of 18. Preadmission testing is not required (except for the Licensed Practical Nurse Program).
  2. The potential student will meet with the adult education staff.
  3. Act 34 Request for Criminal Record Check and Act 80 Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance from the Adult Education Office. Complete forms and send with a Certified Check or Money Order in the amount specified on the forms.  Class attendance will not begin until the CTC receives notification from the Pennsylvania State Police that no violent crimes have been committed.
  4. Adult education personnel will try to determine the student’s interest and aptitude in reference to available programs. Interest inventory and/or aptitude tests may be utilized if agreeable to all parties.
  5. Adult education personnel will schedule a meeting with the program instructor or numerous instructors if further career guidance is required.
  6. The tasks to be included in the program will be identified.
  7. The length of time for completion is estimated and appropriate fees identified.
  8. Students are provided school calendars and handbooks with a detailed explanation of rules, requirements, and expectations as well as the additional services available.

  • Citizenship Recommendation by their High School Principal
  • Other criteria such as program specific requirements and prerequisites are also reviewed.

NOTE: Applications are still accepted after the initial decisions are made. If openings are available or become available ALL applicants on hold for that program are reviewed.
