Precision Machining Technology

The Precision Machining program introduces students to the modern manufacturing industry and prepares them with the technical skills required to become successful machinists and manufacturing technicians. Students receive instruction in the safe use of hand tools, precision measurement tools, and manual machining equipment such as mills, lathes, and drill presses. As students progress through the program, they develop skills in Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machining, blueprint reading, precision measurement, and CAD/CAM programming used in today’s advanced manufacturing environments. The program is aligned with industry standards and prepares students for entry-level employment, post-secondary education, registered apprenticeships, and nationally recognized industry credentials such as NIMS (National Institute for Metalworking Skills).

NOCTI

National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) provides industry-based credentials and partner industry certifications for students enrolled in career and technical education programs.

NIMS Certifications

NIMS sets industry skills standards, certifies individual skills against the standards, accredits training programs that meet NIMS quality requirements, and promotes innovative solutions, such as competency-based apprenticeship, to connect credentialed and work-ready individuals with employers.

NIMS Machining Level I

Haas Operator Training

Haas Operator Training Certification is an industry-recognized program that teaches foundational CNC machine operation, safety, setup, and basic machining skills, verified through online coursework and a hands-on skills assessment.

Titans of CNC

The Titans of CNC Certification is a skills‑based credential earned by completing structured CNC machining projects and having a finished part independently inspected and verified to demonstrate competency in machine setup, operation, and adherence to engineering specifications.

Starrett Precision Measuring Instruments

The Starrett Precision Measuring Instruments Certification is an industry‑recognized credential that validates hands‑on proficiency in using precision measurement tools—such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, and dial indicators—to accurately measure, inspect, and verify parts to engineering and quality standards.
