Position Title: Long Term Welding Substitute Teacher
Program: Welding Technology/Welder CIP 48.0508
Location: Lebanon County Career and Technology Center

The Lebanon County Career and Technology Center (LCCTC) is now accepting applicants for a long-term substitute position for a Welding Teacher. This is a full-time temporary position.

Performance Responsibilities: The essential functions of this position include, but are not limited to the following fundamental duties:

  • Establish standards for classroom behavior and safety that support the school’s discipline and safety programs.
  • Identify and select teaching and learning materials that correlate to the task list and are in line with current industry certifications and standards, as well as approved by the occupational advisory committee.
  • Plan lessons for each competency that are defined by clear performance standards, competency procedures and learning steps, reflecting the CIP task list requirements.
  • Communicate, promote and support the benefits of membership and participation in SkillsUSA.
  • Communicate with administration, parents, and support staff personnel as necessary concerning pupil progress.
  • Create a classroom environment and model behavior that promotes professionalism, courtesy, positive attitude, support and empathy.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience and knowledge shall include:
    • Interpretation and fabrication of parts from a drawing or sketch, metal fabrication; SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, GTAW welding in flat horizontal, vertical, overhead positions; Manual Oxy Fuel (OFC) cutting; Mechanized Oxy-fuel gas cutting; Manual Plasma Arc Cutting (PAC); Manual Air Carbon Arc Cutting (acac-a)
  • Knowledge and use of the following:
    • OSHA safety standards, oxyfuel and arc welding/cutting safety procedures; welding, drawing and weld symbols, hand tools, welding codes, standards, procedures, joint designs, welding materials prep, proper use of standard measuring and layout tools, use of power equipment, basic metric conversions
  • Computer experience is necessary
  • High school diploma, along with formal training in Welding
  • Must have a minimum of four years of full-time, wage-earning experience in Welding or Two year of full time wage earning experience and a bachelor’s degree.
